Safe at Home is local. Here’s what that means to us.

There’s a difference between serving a community and actually being part of it.
For Safe at Home, local has always meant more than an address. It means knowing the communities we serve, understanding the challenges Nebraska families face and being there when someone needs a little extra help at home.
Safe at Home began with a conversation around a dinner table. Today, that conversation has grown to five Nebraska offices serving families in communities across the state. We’ve grown, but the idea behind what we do hasn’t changed: care should feel personal, dependable and close to home.
Local means being here
When a family reaches out to Safe at Home, they’re connecting with people who know their part of Nebraska because they’re part of it, too.
Our offices aren’t simply points on a map. They’re staffed by local teams who build relationships with clients, caregivers, families and community partners every day.
That matters in home care. Needs can change quickly. Questions come up. Families want to know who they’re talking to and who they can turn to when they need help. Having people nearby creates a level of connection and accountability that’s hard to replicate from a distance.
Local in-home care across Nebraska
As Safe at Home has grown, our approach to in-home care in Nebraska has remained rooted in the communities we serve. What began in Sidney has grown across Nebraska, with Safe at Home offices now in Sidney, Norfolk, Nebraska City, Ogallala and Gordon.
Each area is different. The communities are different. The resources available to families can be different, too. That’s one reason having local teams matters. Our offices can build relationships within their own communities while still having the support and resources of the larger Safe at Home team behind them.
Whether someone is looking for companionship and help around the house, personal care, respite for a family caregiver or more consistent support at home, the goal is the same: help people remain safe, comfortable and independent in the place they know best.
Care is personal
Inviting someone into your home to help with everyday life is personal. So is trusting someone to care for a parent, spouse or other person you love.
We don’t take that lightly.
Being local gives our teams the opportunity to know the people behind the care. It means conversations can happen with people who understand the area, relationships can grow over time and families have a local connection when they have questions or their needs change.
At its best, in-home care isn’t just about completing a list of tasks. It’s about helping someone continue living life on their terms, in familiar surroundings and with the right amount of support.
Why we’re calling this “At the table”
Safe at Home started with a conversation around a dinner table, and some of the most important conversations families have still happen there.
That’s what we want this space to be.
At the table is where we’ll talk about the questions that come with caring for someone you love. How do you know when a little extra help might be needed? What kinds of support are available? How can family caregivers get a break? What should you know before choosing in-home care?
We’ll also share resources, stories from our communities and information that can make some of those decisions a little easier.
We may have grown beyond that first dinner table, but conversation is still a pretty good place to start.
Pull up a chair. We’re glad you’re here.
