Our Story
Why We Started Safe At Home
Safe At Home was founded to address a real and growing need for dependable in-home care in rural Nebraska. Before opening Safe At Home, Amber and many members of our leadership team had spent more than a decade working in the caregiving field. The idea for the business began as a simple conversation around the dinner table, centered on a shared concern for the lack of care options available in small communities.
In Sidney, Nebraska and many surrounding rural areas, families have long struggled to find adequate support for seniors and other vulnerable individuals. In 2021, options for in-home care, hospice services and even nursing home placement were extremely limited. Amber saw firsthand how this gap impacted families and decided to open Safe At Home Sidney to provide reliable, non-medical home care services that allowed people to remain safely in their own homes.
From the beginning, Safe At Home was built not only to support clients but also to create meaningful employment opportunities. As a family-owned business, we believed caregiving jobs should offer more than a paycheck. We focused on building a workplace that values caregivers as people by offering flexible schedules, competitive pay, insurance options and 401K plans.
While our growth over the first three years exceeded expectations, our purpose has remained the same. We exist to support individuals and families who welcome us into their homes and to make a positive, lasting impact in the communities we serve across Nebraska.
